I am interested in the architectural structure of this building i.e. the design of the window, the ornament and the name “Chong Hwa Travel Lodge”. I destroyed some of the edges of the building
and the logo deliberately in my paint work to reveal a sense of aging.

I used fresh and smooth colour for the new buildings to create a contract with the abandoned structure that breed with parasite plants at the front. I used gesso to create the rough feeling and cold grey to create a sense of declined and abandoned.

This is a home that is being abandoned.I started this painting with a black color background to capture a sense of terror, loneliness and indifference. I added some dried plant at the corner to suggest a feeling of life and death.

The piece captured an abandoned traditional coffee shop. It extended the artwork that started with a flat black background to bring a contemporary feel. The painting attempted to bring out the design of the architectural building by painting a closed-up image.
